About Me

Hello there!  I am Mary Walker, your Coach.

Chris, the handsome man below, has been my partner in love & life since 2013.  He has readily supported me in my everyday life as well as encouraging me to chase my ideas, ambitions & dreams.

We have two young, energetic, smart, athletic, fun-loving boys who keep us busy. We also give up palace rights to 2 woof pals & 2 meows pals who live harmoniously amongst the rest of us.

We live very full lives & are actively busy outside as often as possible.  We include the kiddo's in age appropriate & physically attainable adventures when applicable.

I can often be found outside in all the elements.  Whether mid-summer on a kayak or mid-winter on a running trail.  The dogs often join in on the adventures right along with me which is nice for quiet company.  During the Summer we can be found at a beach or taking a family hike on an undiscovered trail.

Being outside is a natural endorphin booster & I encourage everyone to participate in activities as simple as walking & activities that require endurance & conditioning, both mental & physical, such as ultramarathons.   Taking a simple walk along a pier or on the beach can do wonders for your mental health as well.

I actively seek outdoor opportunities such as hiking trails & running ultramarathons. I have completed 15, 100+ mile foot races over the past 9 years post bearing children.  I've competed in numerous 50 mile and 50k races & runs and many marathons & half marathons.

My relationship with running has been transformational but ultimately is a sacred space for my own growth and wellbeing and something I have committed myself to for the long game.   I train and run for difficult mountain races as a flatlander.

I understand the commitment required for physically demanding & mentally arduous task.  I accept the challenge such tasks require & use creative ideas to work around areas of weakness while skillfully applying strengths to accomplish a goal.  I share all this because it is not a phase, it is part of my lifestyle.

During periods of a 'slow down', I have recently fell in love with Backpacking Adventures.  You might say movement is the immediate goal but always challenging myself is the ultimate end game.
